It's Mother Flippin' Wintereenmas!

wintereenmas.jpgAwesome, it's finally here! Wintereenmas is upon us.

For those of you who dont know what it's all about, basically Wintereenmas is a week long holiday to celebrate Video Games and the joy they bring us. In a similar vein to what's left of the Christmas tradition, this holiday runs the last week in January each year.

The founder of Wintereenmas is Ethan, a cartoon character from the online comic book Ctrl-Alt-Del

Last year i gathered some friends for a huge Perfect Dark Zero marathon, with Tamak being away in S.A.

This Year Tamaks back! So we're planning a weekend of long gaming sessions.

To celebrate? Im gona trade in my Premium today for an Elite! Im well excited, even though the xbox looks alot better in white, im gona love that extra hard drive space and the use of a hdmi cable.

What really swung it for me however is that my premium is outa warranty, so if it breaks now i've got nothing, or i can trade it in, pay £150, get a new Elite with shop warranty from Game. Plus they're throwing in Assassins Creed.

The other deal is apparently when you trade in a console, any games you trade in with it they give you an extra 20% trade in value! So im considering whether to pick up Halo 3 too.

Either way we have an awesome weekend in store.

Enjoy it however you decide to celebrate it.

Hooking up your ipod

nanoUsing your ipod with your xbox360 is so easy, and works like a dream.

I thought it would just connect as a removable drive and you'd have to browse through looking for your songs, but no. It connects (the same as when it connects to itunes) and the xbox media center lets you browse through Artists, Albums, Genres, it even reads playlists straight from your ipod.

It's so good that they have gone to all the bother of making it compatible with Apple's Ipod, cause listening to your own music whilst playing games is a real advantage and improves the whole gaming experience.

You will need to make sure you xbox dashboard is up-to-date though, as i dont think the ipod support is available straight outa the box, but you dont need to subscribe to use your free silver membership so plug it into your hub and let it update.
